Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created by The Broke and The Bookish.
Representation matters. While writers and publishers work to create reading opportunities involving all faces and backgrounds, one must be honest in realizing that some stories deserve recognition. With greater representation of interracial marriages come the need for stories involving biracial/multiracial teens and adults.
Today’s top ten revolves around ten stories involving biracial characters. Some are mixed black and white and others are mixed Asian/white and Asian/black. Some of the stories discuss their heritage and trying to find a spot where society does not box them; whereas, some stories do not revolve finding their way racially at all. Enjoy!

I’ve only read a few of these (love Everything Everything and To All the Boys…) but I’m going to add more of these to my TBR!

I’m glad to hear not only your decision to add (Peer Pressure for the win), but that you’ve read two of them. Happy joy!

I just finished Swing Time & a huge component of that novel pivots around the narrator being biracial. Her mother is Jamaican and her father is white.

Glad you read the book. I hope you enjoyed it. Zadie Smith often writes stories including biracial characters as she’s biracial too. I like her works and love to share my love of her with others (That sounds a bit rude, doesn’t it? lol)
