Check Out Head House Books, Philadelphia

Whenever I visit a city, I make a point to visit its bookstores. By doing so, not only do I feed my book and bookish item addiction, I “judge” what people ready in the given location (Like you don’t do the same!).

While in Philadelphia, my hometown, I notice a new stack of indie bookstores, along with the ever-expanding Barnes & Noble, residing.

Head House Books, located 619 S. 2nd Street, offers new paperback and hardcover books, along with wonderful bookish items, such as tote bags, magnets, and postcards, to say the least.

In addition, the store offers one of the most substantial children’s sections I’ve ever seen in an independent bookstore.

Prices are reasonable and standard for bookstores. While I did not pick up a book for myself (My son managed to get two Captain Underpants books), I bought two bookish items for my addiction – er, pleasure.

Who doesn’t adore a tote bag? Monsters, I say! They have cute magnetic finger puppets with likenesses of famous authors. I bought Zora Neale Hurston (Their Eyes Were Watching God). I love the book and I love her. So, I refuse to leave any bookstore empty-handed.

Check out this wonderful independent bookstore in Philadelphia, if you are in the area.
